I Dare You!                                                [return to devotional list]

"Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!"

(Ps.145:3)

When there is no one watching and you are all alone, can you have the attitude of PRAISE?

I found out that praise comes easier when the bills are paid, when we are feeling good, on a nice long vacation and the list goes on…  These are the pleasant things in life that make praising Him an easy thing to do.

I dare you to praise Him when no one is around watching you. Praise Him when the bills are rolling in, when the cupboards are empty, when you are unemployed or have received some unpleasant news from the doctor or even when a good relationship goes bad.

PRAISE HIM!

God wants His children to be tremendously zealous for his presence.  Then we can join in a hymn of praise like Isaiah 12:1, which says I will praise you; though you were angry with me, your anger is turned away and you comfort me.

Satan is a liar!  If and only if, he can get you to stop praising when no one is watching and keep us focusing on our temporary situation, is when he will gain the victory over us.

I dare you to praise God in all situations.

God changes people and God changes things!

Amen.
